Are You So Focused on Success, That You’re Not Enjoying the Journey?

“The two hardest things to handle in life are failure and success.” – Anon

Once upon a time, crusty old bureaucrats decided that people could either be winners or losers in the game of life.

(Of course, this is just a fairytale). There aren’t really winners or losers.

To keep their plans secret from the masses, these crusty old bureaucrats decided that they would design hidden programs that would live inside “the power of the collective mind” — programs like:

  • “All work and no play…”
  • “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.”
  • “Business before pleasure.”
  • “It’s better to give than to receive.”
  • “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
  • “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

All of these cliches are products of these programs, designed to create worker bees and struggle “by the sweat of the brow.”

I got news for you.

That is the OLD paradigm.

Those old crusty bureaucrats who made up those programs and perpetuated them until they became the cliches of the collective are trying to maintain control of the world and separate winners from losers, rich from poor, black from white, female from male.

These are illusions!  They are designed to distract us from the REAL game of life.

These programs are very clever because they live in the subconscious mind on the individual level and on the collective level.

Do you want to know what the NEW paradigm is?

Enjoyment.

Being IN JOY.

IN-JOY-MENT.

See? You cannot spell Enjoyment without Joy.

It’s about the Mastery of Joy.

Not about winning some fake prize.

How do you know that you have mastered the game of life?

When you can embody IN-JOY-MENT in all areas of your life.

And it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, famous or infamous.

A small thing can make a BIG change.

Here’s an example…

My husband and I took a trip to Haiti with a group of entrepreneurs that changed everything.

We signed up for the trip to Haiti because we saw exactly what our money could do in the poorest third-world country in our hemisphere that is surprisingly only 45 minutes by airplane from Florida.

There I was…a woman who had it all, among kids who had nothing.

They didn’t even have lamps to turn on after the sun went down, until we supplied them with LED lights.

Before, they were living in mud huts and with our donations, we helped them to build sturdy, concrete homes for two families.

The trip was one of the most transformational experiences of my life. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes!

I was trying to answer the question, “Now that I have everything I could possibly want, the money, the achievements, what is it really for?”

The secret, I wasn’t really en-JOY-ing all the blessings. It’s like the quote:

“What a wonderful life I’ve had. I only wish I’d realized it sooner.”

Sodonie-Gabrielle Colette

If only I’d realized sooner that my life really was wonderful!

It just needed some tweaks — tweaks that required me to make choices between what I enjoy and what I don’t. It also spurred me into The SHIFT, which a lot of my clients are experiencing now, too.

Today I’m inviting you to watch this video about Jelly Beans. Yes, a life-changing video about candy.

When you can see your life’s moments counted up as tiny little jelly beans, it gives you perspective on how important it is to EN-JOY life.

Every bean adds up. Every moment adds up.

Even the small beans can make a HUGE difference to someone.

At the end of your life, you won’t be asked if you won or lost, but you may be asked how much you experienced real JOY.

If you’d like help discovering and realigning to your True Self to open up new paths of joy and fulfillment, please check out my offerings for leaders and organizations here.

Because when you’re aligned with your purpose, THAT is what makes all the difference– for you and those around you.

Ok, now go watch this Jelly Bean video. It will change your life!
